History - The team - Charts

History

Centory sounds like a mix between Century and Centauri. The group was created in 1994 around the rapper Turbo B. (but his identity was only revealed after some time). On stage, he was accompanied by a blond singer called 'Mystery girl' (could it be Christiane Eiben ?) or by the brunette Anita Davis. The project was supported by 2 male dancers (for the gigs given in Paris) or 2 female dancers (at the NL Mega Dance Festival in 1994).

Point Of No Return was the single that started it all. Some scenes on the video clip were judged too hot and had to be removed for TV. It was later covered by a project called Fun Century.

Centory also took part to the first remix album that Cerrone released in 1995. They remixed 2 songs, Mercy and Heart Of Me with the voice of Laura Brightman.

In 1996, an ultimate single was released. Entitled Girl You Know It's True (a cover of the Milli Vanilli's hit originally released in 1988) , it featured for the first time Trey D and not Turbo B. A video clip was shot in a leisure park, directed by Lionel C. Martin. 4 members of the Backstreet Boys appeared in the clip. The sound was rather RnB than eurodance.

The team also produced the project Steel (Power Of Love)
